Giridih: The terror of rats in the government hospital of Giridih, Jharkhand is such that they are not deterring even newborn children from biting them. A woman in the hospital said that the rat had badly gnawed her 3-day-old newborn baby girl, after which her condition has become critical. After receiving the news of the same case, the management fired two nurses and formed a panel to investigate the matter.
At the same time, mother Mamta Devi said that when she went to see her newborn in the Model Maternal and Child Health (MCH) ward of Giridih Hospital, she had a deep wound on her knee after being munched on by rats. Mamta Devi said that I was scared after seeing the injury on the girl's knee. The baby girl was born on April 29 and was admitted to MCH as she was having breathing problem after birth. She said that the nurse on duty had told her that the baby was infected with jaundice.
The nurse had also advised to admit the girl to a better hospital. Along with this, Giridih Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra said that a letter has been sent to the Additional Chief Secretary, Jharkhand Health Department for action against the doctor on duty in Giridih Sadar Hospital.
