Kolkata: The results of the elections held on 108 municipalities of West Bengal have started coming today. Amidst many allegations and counter-allegations, the box of votes has been opened today and the fate of 8,160 candidates is going to be decided. This time, 2,258 candidates of Trinamool, 2,021 of Bharatiya Janata Party, 1,588 of CPI(M) and 965 of Congress are in the fray. This time 843 independent candidates are also seen giving a tough fight in many municipalities.

In the same initial trends, TMC is leading in almost every seat. TMC has won 15 seats so far. Even in North Bengal, which is considered a stronghold of BJP, TMC is leading in every seat. TMC's dominance is also visible in Kanthi Municipal Corporation, the stronghold of Subhendu Adhikari.

This time the counting of votes can be done in a peaceful manner, so a total of 107 voting centers have been set up in 19 cities. Police have also been deployed at each center. Now so much security is being seen because due to this election also violence was seen on many occasions. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Left blamed TMC for this violence.
