With this, Sahil said: "The three made several objectionable remarks against me. Initially, I ignored it thinking it would stop in a day or two. However, the abuses continued for several days. So, I contacted the police and lodged an FIR." In this case, the police said: "We are looking into the matter and will take appropriate action against the account holder."
While the cyber law expert and Khan's lawyer, Prashant Mali, said: "Because the accused had used social media to defame Khan, the police had been using the IPC with sections 500 (defamation) and 34 (common tension) under non-bailable sections of the IT Act, 2000 (67 and 67 a)."
