New Delhi: Google's software update that enables 5G services in India on its compatible devices is now being made available.

Several new features have also been included in the update, which is a part of the March Pixel feature drop. This adds 5G support to the Pixel 7, 7 Pro and Pixel 6a in India. Here's how to set up your Google Pixel phone to get 5G network.

Soon after the launch of 5G services in India in October 2022, Samsung, Oppo and other OEMs were quick to enable 5G support on their eligible devices.

While Apple took some time to activate 5G on its iPhones, Google's cautious approach particularly affected Pixel users. The wait is finally over for Pixel users across the nations.

You will first need to download and set up the latest software update, which is 457MB in size. Follow the steps listed below to activate 5G on your Pixel smartphone.

Go to Settings, select Network & Internet, select a SIM that supports 5G, and click Network preferences. Select 5G from the list of available options.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones now support dual SIM dual standby, thereby eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. However, only a few carriers that offer eSIM services are compatible with it.

Airtel and Jio currently provide 5G services in India. BSNL and Vodafone Idea currently do not support 5G. While Airtel has covered around 265 cities so far, Jio True 5G is currently available in around 331 cities across the country. In October 2022, both businesses began rolling out their next-generation services, and they've been steadily growing their network across the country ever since.
