Moreover, the second phase of IPL suspended in May due to increasing covid cases in India is scheduled to be resumed in UAE from September 19. Delhi is currently at the top with 12 points from eight matches.

Mohammad Kaif continued by saying that there was a long break after the first leg of the IPL but we are fortunate that most of our players have been playing international cricket continuously. Where he goes on to say that we have a balanced team as it also includes the names of players with international and national cricket experience. The first match is going to be very important. This can create our rhythm. Let us tell you that Mohammad Kaif has said that being in UAE will change the role of many players. He has also said that we played well in India and now we have to maintain that performance in UAE. The role of some players may change as things are different here. We have to start afresh and adapt ourselves to the situation.''

Shreyas Iyer, who was ruled out of the first leg due to a shoulder injury, has returned to the squad. Taking his point a little further, Kaif said that there have not been many changes in the team but the best part is that Shreyas has returned. He is a brilliant player and his performance has been tremendous. Delhi will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match on September 22.
