The stock market has seen a huge surge on Thursday. The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex has opened at a historical level of 41 thousand in early trade. The BSE Sensex touched 41,163 record levels in opening trade today. At the same time, Nifty also touched a record level of 12138, on one hand, Bank Nifty crossed 32,000 for the first time. Nifty remained above 12 thousand till 10:30 AM and BSE Sensex was running above 41 thousand.

The stock markets of the country recorded a boom on Wednesday. The major index Sensex gained 199.31 points to end at 41,020.61 and the Nifty gained 63.00 points to end at 12,100.70. The 30-share sensitive index Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a gain of 158.09 points at 40,979.39 in the morning and closed at 41,020.61, up 199.31 points or 0.49 percent. In the day's trading, the Sensex touched an upper level of 41,075.76 and a low of 40,848.70.

25 out of 30 stocks of Sensex rose. Yes, Bank (7.65 percent), State Bank of India (2.49 percent), Maruti (2.38 percent), Sun Pharma (1.87 percent) and ONGC (1.69 percent) were the top gainers. The major losers of the Sensex were LT (2.05 percent), ICICI Bank (1.07 percent), ITC (0.86 percent), NTPC (0.77 percent) and Tata Steel (0.73 percent). The midcap and smallcap indices of BSE gained momentum. The BSE Midcap index gained 121.44 points to 14,915.29 and the Smallcap index gained 26.15 points to end at 13,437.48. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) 50-share sensitive index Nifty opened with a gain of 30.80 points at 12,068.50 and closed at 12,100.70, up 63.00 points or 0.52 percent. The Nifty touched a high of 12,114.90 and a low of 12,055.15 in the day's trading.
