Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to set up a National Additive Manufacturing Centre (NCAM) in Hyderabad. Additive manufacturing (AM) is a commercially designed 3D printing product based on computer-based design.

The centre will be implemented at the national level by the Additive Manufacturing Society of India (AMSI) and the Central Electronics and IT Department in Hyderabad.

The Emerging Technology Department affiliated to telangana IT department recently organized a workshop on additive manufacturing. The workshop was held in February with over 40 startups, training centers and additive synthesis. The workshop discussed the plans and strategies to be adopted to transform the compilation industry to international standards.

Many companies participating in the workshop said that NCAM is working with the aim of reducing the dependence on the domestic market on foreign imports by promoting additive manufacturing in the country and making India a development hub for the additive manufacturing sector. The infrastructure required for research, development, research, skills etc. will be provided at NCAM, Hyderabad. General Secretary of IT and Industry in Telangana, Jayesh Ranjan, said the facilities for research and research related to additive preparation would be provided.
