Alwar: The Congress is now on the front foot in the demolition of a 300-year-old temple in Alwar, Rajasthan. A delegation of Congress leaders visited Rajgarh in the Alwar district. Congress leaders also had to face the wrath of the people due to this. Congress leader Bhanwar Jitendra Singh has announced that the temple will be rebuilt at the same place. Bhanwar Jitendra Singh said- I want to assure that we will get the temple constructed at the same place. He also said that an FIR will be lodged against the municipal chairman as well as the persons responsible for the demolition of the temple. Earlier, when the Congress leaders reached the spot, people shouted slogans against them. People also raised slogans against Ashok Gehlot and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh.

The district administration has also announced that the three temples that were demolished in Rajgarh will be rebuilt. On the other hand, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has condemned the case. Owaisi said the decision was taken by the BJP-led municipal board and the Congress government accepted the decision to demolish the ancient temple. Both Congress and the BJP are equally responsible for this. They should apologize to the people.

A delegation of opposition BJP leaders had also reached Rajgarh in the Alwar district. Mp Sumedhanand, who was part of the delegation of BJP leaders, had termed the demolition of the temple by the Ashok Gehlot government as an Aurangzeb-like act. BJP MP Sumedhanand had said that shops, temples and houses were demolished here. He rejected the allegations levelled against the BJP by Congress, referring to the removal of encroachments in the municipal board by passing a resolution in the municipal board and said that the municipal board had not allowed the demolition of any temple. BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena had termed it as an action taken under pressure.
