Allahabad: In order to remove the barrier between Allahabad and Mughalsarai on the Delhi-Howrah railway line, the government has given a green signal to the construction of a third rail line at a cost of Rs 2,649 crore. "The CCEA has decided to construct a third rail line between Allahabad and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (Mughalsarai) station at an estimated cost of Rs 2,649.44 crore. Allowed.'

The Railway Minister has said that the railway line capacity between Allahabad and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay railway stations is 159 per cent. The decision was taken at the CCEA meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Goyal has said that the 150 km long railway line between the two railway stations will be completed by 2023-24. The work will be completed by the Northern Railway Construction Organisation.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the third rail line will solve the problem of rail traffic. According to railway officials, the number of passenger and freight trains on this stretch is more than its capacity, which makes it very congested. Officials said, the project will increase capacity and remove congestion.
