Mumbai: Omicron cases are coming to light at a rapid pace in India. So far, the new variant of the corona has spread in 17 regions. Meanwhile, in view of the ever-increasing infection, the state government has come into action and once again imposed restrictions to control the virus. With the cases of omicrons reported in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Gujarat on Friday, the total number of new variant cases in the country has crossed 400. Night curfew has now been imposed in these regions to prevent the virus. The state governments have started taking strict action following union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan's warning on omicron. Delhi:-
The Kejriwal government has imposed stringent rules in view of the increasing cases of corona in the national capital. The Delhi government has banned Christmas and New Year celebrations in every region in view of the omicron infection. With this, restaurants and bars in Delhi will now open with 50 per cent of the total capacity.
Maharashtra:-
Maharashtra currently has the highest number of omicron cases across the country. After the new order in Maharashtra, more than 5 persons will no longer be sanctioned in public places from 9 pm to 6 pm. The government has issued new guidelines for marriage programmes. Weddings at closed locations cannot be attended by more than 100 people. If the wedding ceremony is in the open field, the number of guests cannot exceed 250.
Gujarat:-
13 new cases of omicron were reported in Gujarat on Friday. The state government has stepped up its crackdown in view of the growing omicron virus. The government on Friday announced an increase in night curfew in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh from December 25 from 11 pm to 5 am.
Haryana:-
The Haryana government has also decided to impose a night curfew in the state. However, the government has given people an opportunity to celebrate Christmas and New Year. An order issued by the government said Haryana will impose a night curfew in the state from January 1, 2022. Night curfew will be in force from 11 pm to 5 am.
Karnataka:-
In view of the growing crisis in Omicron, the Karnataka government has also announced a ban on New Year celebrations. However, there will be no restrictions on Christmas events and prayer meetings in churches.
Uttar Pradesh:-
The Yogi government of UP has decided to impose a night curfew from December 25 as a precautionary measure in view of cases of covid infection in different parts of the country. Night curfew will continue across the state from 11 pm to 5 am. At the same time, the government has restricted the number of participants in mass ceremonies such as marriage.
Madhya Pradesh:-
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered a ban in the state. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "We are implementing night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am. More measures will be taken if required.'' Not a single case of omicron has been reported in Madhya Pradesh at present.
Odisha:-
Odisha banned Christmas and new year celebrations. Until January 2, 2022, programs in social events, rallies, orchestras, hotels, clubs, restaurants, parks etc. will be banned across the state.
