More infected cases reported in country in 24 hours amid 'omicron' threat

New Delhi: 9,419 new corona cases have been reported and 159 people have died in the country in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is 98.36%, the highest since last March. In the last 24 hours, 8,251 people have recovered from corona, so far a total of 340,97,388 people have emerged from the corona. The daily positivity rate is 0.73% which is below 2% for the last 66 days. The weekly positivity rate is 0.74% which is below 1 per cent for the last 25 days. In the last 24 hours, 80,86,910 doses of the vaccine have been given, so far the total vaccination has reached 1,30,39,32,286.

If you look at the worst affected states, 66,40,888 persons have been found infected in Maharashtra so far and 1,41,204 people have died. Kerala, the second most affected state, has so far found 51,78,892 people infected and 42,014 deaths. Similarly, Karnataka with 29,99,098 cases and 38,249 deaths and Tamil Nadu with 27,32,648 cases and 36,560 deaths are the next two worst-affected states.

The number of infected people in the country had increased to 3,46,56,822 after 8,439 new corona cases were reported in the country yesterday. On the other hand, the figure for undertreatment patients has come down to 93,733, the lowest in 555 days. According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday, the death toll after 195 more infection deaths had risen to 4,73,952. For 12 consecutive days, corona daily cases have remained less than 10,000 and less than 50,000 daily cases have been reported for 164 days.
