The trailer of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is going to be released today at 12 pm.2.0 has been directed by Shankar, who had also directed  the 2010 hit Enthiran. Thaliva’s magnum opus movie has been making news for a long time due to various reasons, one being its visual effects, involving the work of 3000 technicians across the world and another reason why the film is grabbing a generous bit of attention is due to its long-lasting star cast which consists of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and B-town Khiladi Akshay Kumar. The film also marks Akshay’s debut into the South film industry.

Director Shankar had approached Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan to play the role of main antagonist in 2.0 but the role eventually went to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Meanwhile the preparation of grand trailer launch has begun and projectors inside the theater give a glimpse of what's happening outside and who's coming in.The press is being given 3D glasses to take pleasure in the enriching visual experience. The red carpet area is adorned with balloons of red, white, blue and yellow colours and there are also huge banners of Rajinikanth’s characters from 2.0.

The Mega launch event is being covered by Zee Tamil. It  holds the official rights of the film.
