New Delhi: Hyundai has disclosed the name of its upcoming micro-SUV that will compete with the Tata Punch. In India, it will be known as the "EXTER."

The CASPER model from the organization's global lineup will probably serve as the foundation for the upcoming compact car. Remember that the upcoming vehicle's production-ready mule, internally known as Ai3, has been seen conducting test drives on our soil, albeit in a camouflaged form.

Every automaker is introducing a new model or two as compact SUVs have recently outsold hatchbacks in popularity, in an effort to capitalise on India's ongoing SUV craze.

Hyundai already offers the VENUE in this market, but it now intends to soon target the lower end of the segment with a low-cost micro-SUV.

Hyundai plans to pack the EXTER with a tonne of enjoyable features, unlike other automakers who skip them on their entry-level models. With bumper-mounted headlights and wraparound taillights, an all-LED lighting system, a muscular bonnet, a sleek grille, a wide air dam, ORVMs, black B-pillars, roof rails and even a shark-fin antenna are all included on the micro-SUV.

The upcoming Hyundai EXTER's interior design is a secret. However, we anticipate it to have a roomy, technologically advanced interior with a minimal dashboard, premium materials throughout, keyless entry, a sunroof, automatic climate control,

a multifunctional steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a sizable touchscreen infotainment system with support for the newest connectivity technologies. Multiple airbags would guarantee the safety of the passengers.

Hyundai has not yet disclosed the upcoming EXTER's technical specifications. However, we anticipate that the vehicle will be powered by both a powerful turbo-petrol engine and a fuel-efficient naturally aspirated petrol engine. The gearboxes for the mills could be manual or automatic.

At the time of the EXTER's launch, Hyundai will provide information on the EXTER's pricing and availability in India. When it is released, we anticipate the micro-SUV to have a starting price of about Rs. 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
The car would compete with models like the Tata Punch or Citroen C3 here in the United States at that price point.
