UK: The updated SR1 XXR race car has been unveiled by UK-based Radical Motorsport. The vehicle is intended primarily as a stepping stone into professional racing series like the Radical Cup championship.

This marks the company's four-wheeler's first significant upgrade in six years. It now boasts redesigned body panels and a 1.34-liter engine that has been upgraded.

With its lightweight race cars designed for the track, Radical Motorsport has dedicated itself to carving out a new market for itself in the world of motorsport since its founding in 1997.

For enthusiasts hoping to advance to the professional level in circuit driving, the SR1 is the first step. The automaker has now updated its entry-level model for better overall performance after a six-year hiatus.

The overall look of the previous model is carried over into the Radical SR1 XXR.
It has an aggressive front air splitter, swept-back LED headlights with integrated DRLs, squared-off fender-mounted ORVMs, flowing side panels, and 13-inch cast aluminium wheels with slick-type Hankook tyres. Its sculpted hood closely resembles the nose of a Formula 1 race car.

RPE's (Radical Precision Engineering) hand-built fifth-generation 1.34-liter four-cylinder engine, which has a maximum output of 198.8 horsepower and a maximum torque of 163 Nm, drives the Radical SR1 XXR. The mill is connected to a paddle-shifted, 6-speed sequential gearbox.

The new Radical SR1 XXR's cockpit is largely the same as that of the model from the previous generation.

The vehicle comes with moulded racing-style bucket seats, four-point seatbelts, a dashboard-mounted brake bias adjuster switch, a wind deflector, a quick-release yoke-style steering wheel, and a fire extinguisher system. It is available with one or two seats.

A tubular roll cage that has received FIA approval protects the passengers.

The SR1 XXR offers an exceptional package with unmatched performance for the money, getting you on the grid in a professionally run race series, according to Radical Motorsport's head of research and development, James Pinkerton.
