Mumbai: After the reversal of power in Maharashtra, the wait for cabinet expansion is now over. 14 ministers are likely to take oath today. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan at 11 am today. This is likely to be followed by the monsoon session from August 10 to 17. Senior BJP leaders Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chandrakant Patil, and Girish Mahajan are likely to take oaths as ministers. The other leaders who are likely to take the oath are Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Suresh Khade, Atul Moreshwar Save, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Vijaykumar Gavit and Ravindra Chavan.

Gulab Raghunath Patil, Sada Sarvankar and Deepak Vasant Kesarkar from the Shinde faction are likely to take oath today. Apart from this, two more MLAs, including a woman MLA, can join the cabinet. Eknath Shinde was sworn in as chief minister on June 30 after rebelling against the Shiv Sena. Also, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as deputy chief minister. Since then, both were working as two-member cabinets. The opposition was constantly criticizing this. According to the report, Devendra Fadnavis and Shinde had visited Delhi several times in the recent past over the issue of cabinet expansion.

By the way, this cabinet expansion, which is being done more than 35 days after the formation of the government, if the decision on the membership of the rebel MLAs had come in time, then this work could have been done long ago. But CM Eknath Shinde has consistently argued that the delay in this cabinet expansion has not had any impact on running the government. Even now, priority is being given to the development of the state and all the emphasis is on serving the people.
