Nellore: In a video that has gone viral on social media, a young man is brutally thrashing a woman. And the young man's friend is making the video, and the young man is seen in the video hitting the woman several times with a stick. After the video went viral on social media, Nellore Police took quick action and within a few hours, the main accused involved in the dastardly act, Pallala Venkatesh, was arrested from Rapur Mandal. Superintendent of Police C Vijay Rao said that after coming to know about the incident, they formed three teams.

To trace the whereabouts of the accused, teams were deployed in Kaluvoya, Somsila and Ramakotaiah Nagar areas of Nellore city limits, and the victim woman was kept in Rapur mandal. The SP said that the victim was friends with the accused and after seeing his mischievous activities, the victim started keeping distance from Venkatesh. Venkatesh thrashed the woman two months ago by bringing her to a secluded place and made the video viral on social media. "The accused also forced her to have sex with his friends," the SP said.

The incident came to light soon after the video went viral on media and social media platforms on Wednesday and Nellore Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy asked the SP to nab the accused immediately. In no time teams were formed under the supervision of Nellore city DSP J Srinivasulu Reddy and Vedayapalem circle inspector Rama Krishna. Since the police had not received any complaint from the victim, the police registered a case under relevant sections at Vedayapalem police station. The police have also arrested another accused Katari Siva, a resident of Ramakotaiah Nagar in Nellore city, who had helped the accused in making the video.
