Two labourers lost their lives and one of his colleagues were injured in a tragic accident in the Keshavapuram area in the wee hours of Saturday. The labourers were carrying shuttering plates on a tempo. When the driver applied the brakes due to negligence, the plate fell on the labourers and the three labourers were seriously injured. The three injured workers were admitted to a nearby hospital. Two workers were declared dead. The injured labourer was referred to Lok Nayak Hospital. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the police driver and he has been taken into custody.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Usha Rangnani said the deceased labourers have been identified as Lallan (34) and Laxman (35). The injured labourer has been identified as Dharmendra Shah (32). Police have received information about the incident in the Keshavapuram area at 4 am on Saturday. Police, who rushed to the spot, rushed the injured three labourers on the tempo to a nearby hospital. Two workers have been declared dead. While Dharmendra has been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital.  

Investigations have revealed that the labourers on a tempo were carrying shuttering plates. The three labourers were sleeping in the tempo. During this time, in the tempo moving at high speed, the driver casually applied the brakes suddenly. As soon as the brakes were applied, the shuttering plate came over the workers and fell on top of the workers and all three were seriously injured. The driver and the labourers were on their way to the godown of PWD office Keshavapuram after loading shuttering plates on a tempo from Fatehpur Beri at 3 am. Police said the dead and injured labourers were originally from Rohtas in Bihar and were from Keshavpuram in Delhi. Police have informed the family members of the deceased workers about the incident. Two months ago, the three labourers had come to Delhi from Bihar and were working as labourers. Police have registered a case against the driver, Deepchand, arrested him and are pursuing the case.
