Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his close friends in Mumbai. A 20-year-old man was murdered by four of his friends for asking them to share a birthday bill. The police have arrested all the four accused in the case. Two of them are minors, two of whom have been sent to jail and the remaining two minors have been sent to a juvenile home.

The incident took place in Mumbai's Shivaji Nagar police station area. "The youth had a birthday on May 31 and had organised a party at a dhaba. The bill came to around Rs 10,000, which the victim paid as the rest of his friends later agreed to pay. Later, the victim demanded money from his friends but they refused and threatened him".  

The victim was celebrating his birthday with his other friends in Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi at around 8 pm on May 31. On reaching the spot, the four criminals beat the victim badly and attacked him with a sharp weapon, due to which he was seriously injured. Thereafter, the criminals fled from the spot. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the victim to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. After the murder, two minor criminals were detained soon after the incident. The other absconding criminals were arrested from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The police are now taking further action in the case.
