Chidgaon: A case of fire has been reported in a house in the Khopherwadi village Kharshali Panchayat in Chidgaon. One person was burnt alive in the fire and lost his life on the spot.  The deceased has been identified as Rajdev (46) son of Kanwar Singh, Village Khopherwadi Post Office Lad Out Tehsil Chidgaon District Shimla. The 6-room house was completely engulfed in flames, causing loss of property worth nearly one million rupees.

Landlord Rajdev was sleeping at home around 10 pm on Saturday, his wife and 3 children went to Work in Dogri, a short distance from the village. The flames that suddenly rose in the house were so high that it could see it up to another village. At which some people called the accompanying people and reported the incident. The local villagers then collectively tried to control the fire, but the flames were so strong that the entire house was burnt to ashes.

Where it is learnt that the charred body was brought out by the locals with the help of the fire brigade. Police station in-charge Chidgaon Ashwani Thakur said that postmortem of the body has been conducted and handed over to the family members. SDM Surendra Thakur has said that 10,000 rupees have been given as immediate relief to the affected family.
