New Delhi: Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal is engaged in efforts to garner support from opposition parties against the central government's ordinance. As part of this effort, he had also sought support from the Congress and also sought an appointment with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. But, 2 big Congress leaders coming from Delhi are opening a front against AAP. Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit have seen AAP's political stature rise over the past decade.

According to the report,  Kejriwal's proposal has been warned by Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit and Ajay Maken. The Congress high command had called the party's Delhi and Punjab units for talks, but Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit attacked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over the ordinance.   Supporting the Central government's ordinance against the AAP government, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said, "Kejriwal knows very well that if he does not get control of the vigilance department, he will be sent to jail for 8-10 years."

Ajay Maken, who was a minister in the Congress Sheila Dikshit government, said the AAP convenor's "true intentions" were exposed as he had openly sought enhancement of powers over services aimed at keeping control over the vigilance department. Kejriwal has been continuously debating this point since the ordinance was promulgated. "Investigations into scams like liquor scam, Sheesh-Mahal (Kejriwal's Rs 171 crore residence), power subsidy scam, bus purchase scam and others will reveal the extent of corruption within my administration. That's what they want to stop."
