Mumbai: A statement by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has once again raised the political mercury in maharashtra's calm politics. On the birth anniversary of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray on Sunday, CM Uddhav Thackeray said he believes shiv sena wasted 25 years in alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said shiv sena has left BJP, not hindutva. He said the BJP uses Hindutva for power.

Cm Uddhav Thackeray's statement has been supported by senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut. He said there was a Shiv Sena wave in north India after the Babri incident and if the Shiv Sena had contested the elections then, the Shiv Sena would have been the Prime Minister in the country, but the Shiv Sena left the opportunity for the BJP. Sanjay Raut also said that BJP uses Hindutva for power.

Senior BJP leader Ram Kadam has hit back at shiv sena saying cm Uddhav Thackeray should introspect before delivering a lecture on Hindutva whether Shiv Sena is following the ideology of late Bal Thackeray. The same Bala saheb who said that his party will never join the Congress in politics and life, and even if such situations arise, he would rather close the party than join the Congress.
