There is a good news for small taxpayers. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has indicated that after improving the revenue situation, slabs can be cut under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

In the program of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Jaitley said, "We have the scope to improve it by day. Also, the burden of compliance can be reduced, especially in the case of small taxpayers, for example, low slab, but for this, we have to achieve a neutral position in terms of revenue. "

Jaitley said that "direct tax is paid by the effective class of society. Indirect tax burden definitely falls on everyone. He said that in such a scenario, it is always done under the fiscal policy that such commodities, which are consumed by the common people, should reduce the tax rate compared to the others. "

"India is a traditionally tax-compliant society. People have the right to demand development, in such a way that they also have the responsibility to pay whatever is necessary for development " said Arun Jaitley.

He further said that there are no grey areas in tax laws implementation. If a tax is payable, then it's payable and if not, then it is not payable.
