Ranchi: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren raised the issue of power crisis. He said that at present, there is a shortage of electricity availability all over India. Today, we have provided additional rupees to the Department so that the supply is completed by purchasing the power which is already there. The Department has started work to ensure availability of electricity.

Meanwhile, Minister in the Jharkhand government Banna Gupta said that today we have discussed the problem of power cuts. Steps will be taken to solve the power problem soon. We agree that there is some reduction in electricity, I have raised this issue.

Amidst the ongoing power crisis due to shortage of coal supply in several states, including Maharashtra, power outages in several areas  of the country's financial capital Mumbai and surrounding suburbs went off on Tuesday morning. The cuts come at a time when the state is facing a shortage of 2,500 MW of power, due to which the power distribution companies (discoms) have to compulsorily cut power supply in some areas.
