While Bollywood film actor Akshay Kumar's recent release 'Sooryavanshi' is making waves across the country, Punjab is a region where it is facing problems. The movie seems to be ringing strong but the news coming from Punjab may add to the woes of the makers.

The same Sooryavanshi has been released in theatres on November 5, the day after Deepawali. Since its release, protests have been started by the Farmers' Organisation of Punjab. The Boycott Sooryavanshi trend has started doing the rounds on social media. The Kisan Sangathan did not allow the movie to run in theatres in many parts of Punjab. According to reports, it has decided not to run shows in two theatres in Budladha in Punjab as they fear that the agitators may not damage their property. They are afraid that if they start the movie here, they may face opposition. The protests are being witnessed in many parts of Punjab which may intensify further.

The same Kisan Morcha of Punjab has decided to boycott the movie completely. He says Akshay Kumar is very close to the then ruling party BJP. Akshay Kumar is facing this protest due to his closeness to PM Narendra Modi. It is also being reported that the protest is going to escalate further. A procession may also be taken out to protest against his movie on Saturday. The Kisan Majdoor Sangathan has called upon its social media accounts to boycott the movie.
