Patna: In view of the terrorist attacks during the festival season in Bihar and excessive traffic congestion at railway stations, the Railway Police, and all security and intelligence systems have been instructed to remain alert. Sources say that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has expressed the possibility of attacks by Islamic terrorist organizations in Bihar in addition to public places on security forces and their related institutions and offices.
After this information, police and security forces have been kept on alert in at least 15 districts of the state and special monitoring is being done at the offices, camps of security forces. Extensive search operations are also being carried out at large railway stations and congested areas. Patna (Rail) SP Sujit Kumar has told the media on Monday that, "The number of passengers coming to Bihar on the occasion of the festival increases significantly."
He has said that in view of the possibility of terrorist attacks, all the Railway Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Station Incharge have been alerted and instructions have been given about the security system. Naxalite activities have also been cautioned. "When asked about the subject of the terror attacks, he said that there is no such information, but as a precaution, visitors to all major stations are being monitored.
