Bangalore: A shocking case has come to light from Kolar district of Karnataka. Around 20 Muslim students of a government school have been seen offering namaz in school class here. The students were reportedly allowed by the school principal on Friday (January 21, 2022). But when a Hindu organization came to know about Muslim students offering prayers in the school class, they strongly opposed it, after which it was discontinued.
According to the report, political turmoil has erupted after the case came to light. Amidst the protest, Kolar district collector Umesh Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the functioning of Mulbagal Someshwar Palaya Bale Changappa Government Kannada Model Higher Primary School and submit a detailed report. Deputy Director of Public Instruction Revana Siddappa has been asked to visit the school to investigate the matter and file a report on the basis of the same.
According to sources, the principal of the school had allowed the students to pray in class itself to prevent them from going out to pray. A student said, 'We have been doing this since the school reopened two months ago. The principal of the school had allowed us to do so. However, when the protesting Hindu organisations spoke to school principal Uma Devi, she said, 'I don't know anything about it. I have not done it. The students themselves did it. I was not in school when all this happened. The block education officer called and said that it was happening in the school and I acted on it soon. '
