Ranchi: On Wednesday, a simultaneous raid campaign was conducted across the state against power theft in Jharkhand on the orders of the government. Due to this raids were conducted in 3731 houses, houses and commercial premises. In this sequence, a fine of Rs 149.92 lakh has been imposed by registering an FIR against power evasion at 882 places.

In the same raids conducted across the state, 63 in Ranchi, 21 in Gumla, 60 in Jamshedpur, 39 in Chaibasa, 30 in Dhanbad, 41 in Chas, 159 in Daltonganj, 23 in Garhwa, 86 in Dumka, 67 in Sahibganj, 46 in Giridih. , 102 in Deoghar, 76 in Hazaribagh, 35 in Ramgarh and 34 in Koderma have been fined after registering an FIR for theft of electricity. With this, the state government has assured that the initial generation of electricity from Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam and North Karanpura Power Project will start from October this year.

By October 2023, both the power generation plants will be at full commercial capacity. This news was given by the Chief Secretary of the State Government Sukhdev Singh in video conferencing with PM Narendra Modi. He informed about the progress of work of both the under-construction power generating plants. Due to this, officers of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) were also present in the presence of the Union Energy Secretary. NTPC officials also expressed satisfaction over the progress of both the projects.
