Rishikesh: Panic prevailed when a leopard entered a house in Mira Nagar Gali No. 14 in Rishikesh on Thursday morning. The locals reported this to the forest department. The forest department team that reached the spot tried to nab the leopard. People in the vicinity have said that a leopard has entered inside an under-construction building. Meanwhile, Rishikesh Range Officer Lalit Mohan Singh Negi and an employee had gone inside the under-construction building to nab a leopard. As soon as he entered the room, Gulzar ran out of there. Meanwhile, the leopard has also injured the range officer.

It is being said that leopards after leaving from here hid behind a banana tree in a nearby plot. A team of the ministry reached the spot to tranquilise the leopard. For about five hours, the leopard hid behind the banana tree and then escaped from there. After which he went into the cultivation of wheat. A team of the forest department is engaged in rescue at the spot to nab the leopard.
 
The forest ministry team is engaged in the rescue operation, but so far, success in catching leopard has not been achieved. With leopard entering the area here, the fear among the people has increased even more. Locals say they are afraid of their children. Where in this regard, the local people say that it is common to be afraid of the way leopard is entering the populated areas also. The forest department team has faced a lot of hard work to catch leopard.
