Building collapses in Lucknow, 8 feared to be trapped yet

Lucknow, the capital of UP, had a big accident on Tuesday evening. A building collapse was also reported in the Hazratganj area, one of the busiest areas of Lucknow. According to reports, four people are feared trapped under the debris of the building. At present three have been saved. UP Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak himself is present at the spot. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed for relief and rescue operations. Even now 8 people are feared trapped in the debris.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak told reporters, "The rescue operation is going on. NDRF-ADRF (team) has reached the spot. Police personnel and fire brigade personnel had also reached the spot. Till now three bodies have been found. It is our endeavor to save the lives of our brothers and sisters in any case." He told that more people feared being trapped in the debris.

Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar, when asked whether the multi-story building collapsed due to the tremors of the earthquake, said, "Nothing can be said now. I am reaching the spot.'' Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the incident, CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to provide proper treatment to the injured. The CM ordered the District Magistrate and senior police officers to conduct relief work on the occasion and also asked many hospitals to remain alert.
