Patna: In Bihar, this monsoon season, thundershowers are wreaking havoc on individuals. In the state, 8 more persons died within 24 hours. Of these, five were from Saran, two from Muzaffarpur and one from Jehanabad district. So far this year, more than 170 people have lost their lives due to lightning. In the last few years, the incidents of thunderstorms have increased in the state.

According to reports, on Saturday, bad weather conditions at Madhora and Dariyapur in the Saran district led to heavy weather conditions at isolated places. Two farmers, a labourer, a youth and a student died. The first incident took place in Mohammadpur village. While some people were resting under the banyan tree in the afternoon, suddenly the weather worsened and the celestial lightning fell on the tree. Three persons lost their lives due to its impact.

At the same time, a youth and an eighth-standard student died when a stampede fell on the shed of Karkat in the Banwaripur area in the evening. Two villages under the Paru police station area of Muzaffarpur district were hit by a scuffle on Saturday evening. A child and a woman lost their lives. Both were residents of Kamalpur Mathia village. In Bihar, 170 people have lost their lives so far this year due to thunderstorms. Of these, 84 deaths occurred in the months of June and July alone. Last year too, 280 people lost their lives due to lightning. At the same time, in 2020, the highest number of 459 people died due to lightning.
