New Delhi: Constitution Day is being celebrated across the country today as part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday said the Constitution of India is like the Gita, which inspires citizens to work for the nation. Speaking on the occasion, he also reacted to opposition parties not participating in the Constitution Celebrations. Om Birla said he said there was no seating arrangement for him but it was a lie.

Earlier, speaking at the inauguration of the Constitution Day celebrations in the Central Hall of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Speaker said, "If each of us is committed to work for the country, we can build 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'. Om Birla compared the constitution of the country to the holy book Shrimad Bhagwat Gita. He said that it is not just a book, but a source of inspiration for the citizens of the country to work for the country. The function was boycotted by several opposition parties including the Congress.

But this is a lie. Om Birla further said, "Arrangements were made for both Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress party leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary to sit on the stage.
