Lucknow: Good rains in Uttar Pradesh in the next two days can give relief to farmers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted good rainfall till September 15. Due to the lack of rain this year, the paddy crop has been badly affected. Farmers in the state were waiting for good rains throughout the monsoon season. Now that the monsoon is in its farewell season, the warning of good rains till September 15 has given new hope to the farmers.
IMD says that in the next three days, there may be a major change in the temperature of various districts of the state. Due to continuous rains, the day temperature may fall for the next one week. At the same time, the movement of clouds will continue in the capital Lucknow and surrounding districts. Normal to heavy rains are expected in various districts. In view of the deficient rainfall in the state, CM Yogi has formed a team of senior officials of the government, which will assess the drought situation in all 75 districts of the state.
According to the report, Chief Minister Yogi has sought a report on the drought situation within a week. More than 62 districts of UP have received less than average rainfall this year. In such a situation, farmers have been given relief by the government. Recovery has been stopped in the affected districts. Nalkool bill collection has also been postponed and the connection has been ordered not to be disconnected. Along with this, CM Yogi has asked the Irrigation Department to take effective steps. Instructions have been given to supply adequate water in canals and adequate power supply in rural areas.
