Samajwadi Party MLA Rajesh Shukla from Chhatarpur's Bijawar and Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Sanjeev Kushwaha from Bhind left their party and joined the saffron party in the presence of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The political background of Sanjeev Kushwaha has also been from BJP. His father Ramlakhan Singh was a five-time MP.
At present, both these MLAs were supporting the BJP from outside. The special thing is that the defection rule will not apply to these three MLAs. Because with the joining of only one MLA Rajesh Shukla from SP, 100 percent merger of the party has been done in BJP. On the other hand, Bahujan Samaj Party has two MLAs in the form of Rambai and Sanjeev Kushwaha. In this way, even if there is 50 percent merger with BJP, the anti-defection act will not apply.
