Modi govt announced 30-day bonus for these employees before Diwali

New Delhi: The Central Government has given the green signal to its employees to grant non-productivity related bonus (Ad-hoc Bonus) equivalent to 30 days' emoluments for 2020-21. This benefit will be available to all non-gazetted employees of Group 'C' and Group 'B' who do not come under any promotional linked bonus scheme. According to the Finance Ministry, the calculation limit for payment of Ad-hoc bonus will be rs.7000 per month as revised from 01.04.2014.

According to the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, the Ad-hoc bonus will also be paid to eligible employees of central paramilitary forces and armed forces under these orders. The bonus will also benefit union territories employees who follow the emolument pattern of the Central Government and do not come under any other bonus or grace scheme.

Bonus based on these conditions:-

- Only employees who were in service on 31.3.2021 and who have served continuously for at least six months during 2020-21 will be eligible for an Ad-hoc bonus. The eligible employees will be admissible to pay proportionately for the period of continuous service from six months to one full year during the year, the eligibility period is being taken in terms of the number of months of service.

- The amount of Ad-hoc bonus will be calculated on the basis of the average emoluments/calculation ceiling, whichever is lower. To calculate non-PLBs for one day, the average emoluments in a year will be divided by 30.4 (average number of days in a month). Thereafter, the given bonus will be multiplied by the number of days.

- Casual labour that has worked in offices for at least 240 days each year for 3 years or more after 6 days (206 days for 3 years or more in case of offices that follow 5 days a year), This non-PLB will be allowed to pay.
