Tv's popular comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has been entertaining the audience for the past several years. Each role of this show is special in itself. Dilip Joshi has brought the role of Jethalal to life. But very few people would know that Dilip Joshi was not the first choice for Jethalal. Before him, 5 actors were offered this character, but they refused for some reason or the other.  

Rajpal Yadav, who made people laugh with his comedy, had the opportunity to become Jethalal, but he turned down due to his work commitments. He wanted to focus on his Bollywood career. Kiku Sharda, who appeared in 'The Kapil Sharma Show', was also offered the role of 'Jethalal'. He was busy with Kapil Sharma's show, so he rejected the offer.

Yogesh Tripathi, who appeared in the same 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai' and 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan', was approached for 'Jethalal', but he did not want to work in multiple projects at the same time. So they refused the producers. The makers of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' had also approached stand-up comedian Ehsan Qureshi, but he refused to play the character of 'Jethalal'. Kapil Sharma's onscreen grandmother I mean Ali Asgar was also offered the role of Jethalal. He had already given many professional commitments, due to which he had to reject this character.
