USA: To use the 21 new emoji from the most recent Unicode 15.0, WhatsApp has removed the need to download a separate keyboard.

However, it is currently being tested on the Android beta channel and will be made available to more people soon. The app, which is owned by Meta, is also developing some updates for the Android and iOS versions.

The Meta-owned app has over 2 billion users worldwide. WhatsApp's user base grew from about half a billion every two years to 1.5 billion between 2016 and 2018. Social media apps must constantly improve the user experience because of their immense popularity.

A new version of WhatsApp will replace the number in the chat list with the push name. This option can be especially helpful when you're part of a large group.

The push name of an unknown sender will now appear in the message bubble of a chat whenever you receive a message from them instead of their phone number.

However, both the Android and iOS versions of this feature are currently being developed and tested on the beta channel. This is included in the iOS 23.5.0.73 and Android 2.23.5.12 updates.

With new tools and fonts like Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damian, Exo 2 and Morning Breeze, WhatsApp is also planning to update the drawing editor.

Just like in Instagram, you can easily choose from a variety of fonts by simply tapping on the font options displayed directly above the keyboard. The ability to change the text background color is one of the other improvements.

You can specify an end date for group chats with iOS's new "Expired Group" feature. Users will receive notifications to clear the group after the time limit has passed.
