Ben Stokes was tasked with the job to stop CSK from scoring 18 runs in the final over but while he managed to get rid of Dhoni on the third delivery,  CSK Skipper came on the field again as the Englishman bowled an above waist height full toss to Mitchell Santner. The delivery had the straight and leg umpires divided in opinion - Dhoni also joined them in the discussion - with the delivery eventually being counted as legal.

Slater, who was doing commentary during the match, was in utter disbelief seeing Dhoni being involved with the umpires while Ben Stokes joined him in the discussion too. “I can’t say I’ve seen this (before),” Slater said on air. “You will never see a captain storm out onto the field to have a discussion with the umpires. Unbelievable.”

Vaughan also took to Twitter and wrote, “This is not a good look for the game ... No place at all for a Captain to storm onto the pitch from the Dugout ... !!,”

the former Australian fast bowler, Shaun Tait also slammed MSD saying it isn't village cricket or an Under-10s game that someone like Dhoni can walk in whenever he wishes to. “You don’t walk onto the field. It’s not village cricket or under-10s cricket — this is the IPL,” Tait said. “You’re a player. I think Dhoni sometimes forgets he’s a player. You’re not an official, you’re a player, you can’t control the officials. It was a really bizarre look.”
