New Delhi: Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has attacked those challenging the Central Government's decision to ban the controversial documentary of the British media agency BBC in the Supreme Court. The Law Minister has said that some people are wasting the precious time of the court.

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted on Monday (January 30) that a large number of cases are pending in other courts including the Supreme Court. He wrote that 'Thus they waste the precious time of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, where thousands of common citizens are waiting for dates for justice.' He made another tweet, in which he wrote, 'How long will false propaganda last? The matter has been settled and quashed by the Supreme Court of India. So what is the purpose of these people? Is the Supreme Court of India at the top or the BBC? India has moved a long way from this colonial mindset.'

Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, journalist N Ram, and others have challenged the central government's decision to ban the controversial BBC documentary in the Supreme Court. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra's name is also included in the petition against the removal of the documentary's links on Twitter.
