New Delhi: Lal Krishna Advani, a veteran BJP leader, has received an invitation to attend the consecration of the Ram Temple scheduled for January 22. The invitation was extended to him by Alok Kumar, the International Working President of Vishva Hindu Parishad.
Alongside Advani, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, also a prominent figure in the Ram Temple agitation, has been invited to the event. Alok Kumar, the International Working President of Vishva Hindu Parishad, shared, "BJP veterans L K Advani and Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, who were at the forefront of the Ram Temple agitation, have been invited for the consecration in Ayodhya on January 22. We discussed the temple movement, and both senior leaders expressed their intent to try attending the consecration."
Reports had earlier suggested that both veterans might not attend due to their age and health concerns. Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Ram Temple Trust, previously mentioned that the two veteran leaders were advised not to attend due to their age, a request that was acknowledged by both leaders.
Preparations are actively underway for the ceremony on January 22, which is expected to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Champat Rai highlighted that preparations for the ceremony are set to conclude by January 15. He mentioned that the ritualistic puja for the 'praan pratistha' ceremony will commence on January 16 and persist until January 22.
Acknowledging the health concerns of LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, Champat Rai indicated that they might not attend the 'praan pratistha' due to their health and advancing age. Advani, a veteran BJP leader, is 96 years old, while Joshi is set to turn 90 in January next year.
Apart from the veteran leaders, an invitation has also been extended to former PM HD Devegowda for the event. In response, Devegowda expressed his delight at receiving the invitation, stating, "I was delighted to receive an invitation for the inauguration of the Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Chairman of the Ram Temple Complex Development Committee Mr. Nripendra Misra, Senior RSS leader Mr. Ram Lal, and Senior VHP leader Mr. Alok Kumar met me at my New Delhi residence today."
