LOGISTICS PERFORMANCE INDEX CHART 2022: Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat are among the 15 states and Union Territories categorised as achievers in the logistics performance  index chart 2022, as per a report released by the commerce and Industry Ministry on Thursday.

The index shows how well the logistical services that are needed to boost exports and economic growth are working. The other states in the ranking that are called "fast movers" are Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Tripura. Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Ladakh, Nagaland, Jammu and Kashmir, and Arunachal Pradesh are among the 15 states and UTs that are ranked as aspirers.

Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are some of the other states and UTs in the achievers group. According to the fourth LEADS (Logistics Ease Across Different States) 2022 report, which was released by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, the report ranks the states based on their logistics ecosystem. It also shows the main logistics problems that the stakeholders face and makes suggestions for how to solve them.

The goal of the index is to put more attention on improving logistics performance across states, which is important for boosting trade and lowering transaction costs. In 2018, the first logistics report was made public. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no ranking was given out last year.

The LEADS survey looks at the opinions of shippers, terminal infrastructure service providers, logistics service providers, transporters, and government agencies to find out what makes the logistics ecosystem in the country work and what stops it from working. The annual survey uses a statistical model to rank the logistics ecosystem of each State or UT based on the data it gets from stakeholders (perception data) and States or UTs (objective data).
