The government is preparing to rein in milk prices. Ministry of Agriculture has sent a proposal to the Group of Ministers to include milk in the Essential Commodities Act. The essential commodities act will have government control over the price of milk. This step will benefit farmers and customers.

The benefit of farmers will increase the supply of milk from November to March. Therefore, the price stabilization fund for the government's milk price can help farmers.

The sellers are buying milk from farmers at a price of Rs 24 per liter. At the same time, the price of procurement of milk from farmers in the last 3 months has reduced by 3 rupees. However, prices of milk are constantly increasing in retail. Recently, Mother Dairy had increased the price token of milk by two rupees per liter. The price token of milk has been increased from 38 rupees to 40 rupees per liter. However, there is no change in the prices of packet milk.

Prior to Mother Dairy, milk brand Sudha Milk in Bihar also announced last month's increase in its milk prices by Rs 2-3 per liter. The company raised the price of full cream milk from Rs 45 to Rs 48, and the price of cow's milk was increased from 37 rupees to 40 rupees. Apart from these, the price of toned milk was increased by Rs 2 per liter.
