Wipro said in a BSE filing today that Capgemini executive Thierry Delaporte has been elected as its chief executive officer and managing director. Delaporte is set to take over on June 1. He left the technology firm after four years citing 'family commitments'.

Delaporte was the Chief Operating Officer of the Capgemini Group and a member of its Group Executive Board. During his twenty-five-year career with Capgemini, he has held a number of top positions, including CEO of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit and head of all global service lines. He has also led the change agenda.
