The country has seen a sharp decline in covid cases this month, without denying that the impact of the second wave of covid has declined. But the third wave crisis in the country is still on the rise. Meanwhile, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has stated that the third wave could hit within about 2 months in the next 6-8 weeks. The AIIMS Chief made the statement while talking to the media.

Dr. Guleria, worried about the third wave, said that 'As we have started unlocking, there is again a lack of covid-appropriate behaviour. We have not learnt from what happened between the first and the second wave. The crowd is increasing again. People are gathering in huge figures. If this happens, it will not take long for the number of covid cases to go up at the national level. It may occur within the next 6 to 8 weeks. Or maybe it may take a little longer'.

He further said that all this depends on how we move forward in the case of corona virus suitable behaviour and crowd prevention. It has been revealed that the covid epidemic has so far claimed more than 4 million lives worldwide. India, USA, Brazil, Russia and Mexico are present with 50 per cent stake. India has registered 60,753 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases to 2,98,23,546.
