The online delivery platform, known as Grofers and now Blinkit the blinkitt, is limiting its operations in the country. The company on Monday announced that it is going to work only on the glory where the delivery of the product can be given to the consumer in 10 minutes. Blinkit is going to temporarily shut down its services in the area where it is not able to complete the delivery within a time frame of 10 minutes. Grofers recently rebranded himself as a blinkitt. Swiggy's Instamart, BigBasket, Dunzo and Zepto are the company's major rivals in the sector.

Blinkit founder and Chief Executive of Sir Albinder Dhindsa announced the closure of service in an area where it is not delivering fast through a blog post. Blinkit's service is now only going to be available in areas where the company will deliver to users in 10 minutes (or less). Dhindsa continued by saying that it could have a huge impact on the size of our business and the figures of customers. We think out of our 200,000 customers every day, it can affect about 75,000. In this regard, he said that we are opening a new store every 4 hours and expecting to provide service to all the customers affected within 4 weeks. Users will also be able to update their exact location on our app to check if blinkit service is available in their area.

Grofers started working as an online grocer in 2013. The company rebranded itself with the name Blinkit just last week. The company is mainly focusing on grocery delivery so far.  It is also said to have more than 100 partner stores or warehouses in 8 cities. It currently has reportedly 2000 workers and more than 10 lakh orders are processed in a week in 12 cities of India. It has been revealed that in the covid era, people are increasingly increasingly shopping online grocery, which has directly benefited from platforms like Blinkit. The company is also claiming delivery with full safety and hygiene.
