This Central Asian Country sets new record of 7,900 daily COVID-19 cases

Kazakhstan: The pandemic wreaked havoc across the world as Kazakhstan records 7,899 new coronavirus cases which is the highest single-day increase since the start of the pandemic has been recorded in Kazakhstan over the past day, the national coronavirus response centre said on Saturday. The previous record of 7,803 cases was registered on August 1.

"Over the past day, 7,899 new cases of the coronavirus were registered in Kazakhstan," the centre said in a statement, adding that the total number of those infected has reached 626,412. The death toll from the disease has increased by 128 over the given period to 6,659, the response centre said.

Talking about India corona update India today reported 38,628 new Covid cases, a drop of nearly 13 per cent from yesterday's 44,643 cases. It also reported 617 deaths, which is an increase in yesterday's 464 number, taking the total death count to 4,27,371. Fearing about a pandemic, Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla has said he is hopeful that Covovax, another COVID-19 vaccine being manufactured by his company in India, will be launched in October for adults and for children by the first quarter of 2022.
