France's PSA Group is set to start its operations in India soon. This group creates cars for Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands. This company has bought the Ambassador brand in India and it has made a Joint Venture with 50-50% stake in the CK Birla Group.   

The company had bought the Ambassador brand from Hindustan Motors for Rs 80 crore in February 2017 and to begin making an Ambassador car in India soon to invest in the Indian market.   

A PSA spokesperson said at the time, "You can imagine how important this name (ambassador) is for PSA, this brand is actually more famous than Ambassador."   

Hosur Plant to start in 2019. The company has not yet officially disclosed its plan to revive the Ambassador brand. But, the company has invested so much money in buying this brand, it seems that if the company makes an ambassador again in India, then it will not be a losing deal for it. 

In November last year, PSA and CK Birla Group started construction of construction of their power plant in Hosur, Tamilnadu. This joint venture has announced an investment plan of Rs. 700 crore for the vehicle and powertrain manufacturing plants.   

At the beginning of the power plant, there will be a manufacturing capability of about 2 lakh units annually. Hosur's plant will be operational at the beginning of 2019.
