Despite many challenges  for Tesla in setting up an EV manufacturing plant in India, the world's largest electric car maker has received a wonderful  offer from the Telangana state government. Telangana's Industry and Commerce Minister, KT Rama Rao, said his state is "pleased to cooperate" with the EV maker to build a facility in the state. The minister's offer came a day after Tesla CEO Elon Musk replied to the company's attempt to sell electric automobiles in India. "Still working through a lot of difficulties with the government," Musk stated in response to a question on Twitter.

Replying to Musk on Twitter, KT Rama Rao wrote, “Hey Elon, I am the Industry & Commerce Minister of Telangana state in India.

Will be delighted to collaborate with Tesla to overcome the hurdles of establishing a presence in India/Telangana. Our state is a national leader in environmental measures and a top-tier business location in India."

Musk was referring to the company's attempt to decrease import levies on electric vehicles in India as one of the 'challenges.'

"Tesla intends to introduce its vehicles in India soon," Musk said in August last year, "but Indian 'import tariffs are by far the highest in the world by any significant country."" In January of last year, Tesla stated that it has registered itself as Tesla India Motors in Karnataka, indicating that it is serious about starting in India.
