Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Petta has received the rave reviews from the audience and has proved a Mega-hit at the box-office. He  'Petta' directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures has just touched its 25th day at the box office and still not losing much steam.  Now, the reports have emerged about Thalaivar's next film his 166th to be directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions.

RajiniKanth had has allotted 90 days call sheet for 'Thalaivar '166' For the first time in his five-decade-old career. The shoot of the movie is set to begin in March first in Chennai and later would shift to  Mumbai and Hyderabad.  A few songs and scenes will also bee shot in exotic locations abroad and it is more or less confirmed that Anirudh would be scoring the music for the second time for his uncle after 'Petta.

Talking about Petta, the action film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under his production studio Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth with an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M. Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, J. Mahendran and Guru Somasundaram. It was released on 10 January 2019.
