New Delhi: The havoc of the corona epidemic continues in the country, meanwhile the cases of corona's new variant Omicron are also increasing day by day in India. The same will now be possible to identify Omicron with omishyor kit. The kit, which is used in RTPCR machine, will also enable corona test. The report will also come within three to four hours. The swadeshi kit has also received permission from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The kit will be available to the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) this month. This will make the test easier.
According to reports, the number of corona positive patients in the district is increasing rapidly. But the health department is not getting information as to which variant is spreading the infection. Several times samples were also sent for genome sequence, but the report could not be submitted. In this case, this indigenous kit will help in detecting new variant omicrons.
Dr Ashok Pandey, senior scientist at RMRC, said the kit has been designed and developed by US-based company Thermo Fisher. It has been built by Tata. The kit has also received permission from the ICMR. Earlier, genome sequencening was being used to detect omicron variants. Now, with the help of Omishyor, the omicron variant can be detected immediately.
