Weighing about 1.3 kilograms, the vomit was valued at Rs 1.7 crore. Police said, the man has been booked under the Wild Life Protection Act. It is illegal to sell whale fish to vomiting or ambergris. The police and forest department arrested a man named Rahul Dupare from Kama Lane in Vidyavihar area of Mumbai.

Here's how the whale looks upside down. This vomit of whale fish resembles white wax, which dries up and becomes powdery. It is later heated and melted and converted into oil. Normally a whale accumulates about 80 to 100 kg of ambergris at a time from the belly of a fish. When there is an overdose it comes out of the whale's body by vomiting. It is a very precious wax, made up of a substance that seeps from the intestines of the sperm whale. This vomit of whale fishes sells in millions. With this in mind, whale hunting is banned in many countries, but smuggling continues.
